I just reposted a bunch of old posts that had somehow been changed to drafts and were no longer visible.
Working on some new stuff now.

Today in Punk Rock History: The Ramones Final Show
20 years ago today the Ramones performed their final concert at the Palace in Los Angeles.
I wasn’t at that show, but I did get to see them in another state on their final tour.
Fight for VA-Funded Service Dogs Takes Next Step
Please contact your representatives about this. It is up in both the House and the Senate. Service dogs make life livable again and should be a part of the most basic things that the VA provides to our veterans!
Senators Deb Fischer (R., Neb.) and Cory Booker (D., N.J.) introduced the bill, known as the Puppies Assisting Wounded Service members (PAWS) Act. It would create a pilot program at the VA to provide veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder with trained service dogs and veterinarian care. The veteran would also be required to make quarterly mental ouseealth check ups at their local VA facility to remain eligible for the program. The bill authorizes $10 million per year to fund the pilot program, which will run from fiscal year 2017 to 2022. It’s House counterpart, introduced in March, has already accumulated 97 co-sponsors from both sides of the aisle and is currently awaiting hearings in the Veterans Affairs Committee. The Senate’s version of the PAWS Act was introduced in a bipartisan effort to extend Veterans Affair
Cherry the pit bull, rescued from Michael Vick’s fighting ring, gets to play with kittens | MNN – Mother Nature Network
Cherry Garcia had a tough start to life. He was rescued from an illegal dog fighting ring on Michael Vick’s property. But things are looking up.
This is so amazing! You have to watch the video. What a sweet, sweet dog.
Michael Vick should have been put away for life, or worse.
And, shame on the NFL for letting him play again!
But, you know what? This rescue story is so much more rewarding than any punishment he could have received.
A Personal History Of L.A. Punk: ‘It Was A Free-For-All For Outcasts’ : NPR
John Doe, Exene Cervenka and Dave Alvin of X join Fresh Air to discuss punk’s early days. “Anybody could belong to punk that wanted to be there,” Cervenka says. “[It] didn’t matter how old you were.”
You can read the article or listen to the interview. I’m going to start reading Under the Big Black Sun: A Personal History of L.A. Punk, by John Doe and Tom DeSavia, this week. I’ll check back in with a review.
Iggy Pop, Dylan Thomas, Cannes
Iggy Pop will be speaking at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity tomorrow. He is featured in the “The Grey 10th Annual Music Seminar: Do Not Go Gentle” at 3:00 Cannes time. That’s 9:00am EDT, 6:00am PDT in the US. He will be interviewed by Grey London chairman and chief creative officer Nils Leonard.
As a promo for the event, Iggy recited Dylan Thomas’ Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night in this video.
Leonard said of Iggy, “2016 will be the year we lost heroes. But I worry that people are starting to wait for the next cultural figurehead to mourn, and it’s bullshit. Like the world’s worst meme. Incredible living artists and icons continue to challenge and define our culture, and Iggy is their viking king. Iggy has shrugged off what age is supposed to mean, convention, and expectation. He’s grown old disgracefully and successfully. He is a real-life beautiful and vicious inspiration.”
